McCabe Family Roots Request
Thank you for taking time to read my request. I am Patrick Ryan living in the United States and spending my free time researching my family roots from Ireland.
I would appreciate any information you may be able to present. I’m looking to reconnect with distant relatives so that I may learn even more about our history.
My great-grand mother Mary Ann McNally McCabe wrote in her cook book that her husband Harry “Jake” McCabe had relations in Bally Bay Monaghan. Jake spent all his life living in Terre Haute, Indiana USA. He was born Jun 16, 1880 died January 16, 1947.
Jake’s parents were Henry and Maria Lewis (LaPlante) McCabe. The LaPlante maiden name was Maria’s adoptive parents name. Maria McCabe and her two daughters Harriet and Maria McCabe Wickes moved to Manhattan during the 1920’s until their deaths from 1926-1935.
Henry McCabe came to the USA around the mid 1860’s along with his brother Michael J McCabe and sister Margaret McCabe who later married Francis Campbell.
Jake’s brothers and sisters were:
John Francis McCabe
Edmund L McCabe
Maria McCabe Wickes
Rose McCabe Hauser
Richard M McCabe (died age 2)
Harriet Margaret McCabe
Catherine Louise McCabe
Florence Anna McCabe

Hi Chrisopher,
Are those the only McCabe's listed for that valuation? If that's the case, it's hard telling which might be the fathe of Henry, Michael and Margaret McCabe.
Thank you for taking time to publish the information.
Patrick

Hi Irishmansmiling ,
I don't have any information on your McCabes , but they seem to be closely connected with my family .
Here are the connections -
A Francis McCabe and a Francis Donnelly was the executor of the Will of Edward Flanigan ( Edward was married to a Margaret Donnelly ) from Monaghan , probated on 25 May 1910 .
A McCabe man who was a lawyer in Dover , New Hampshire executed the Will of Peter Donnelly ( Margaret's brother ) in Dover , New Hampshire in the early 1900's .
Annie McCabe , age 70 , sailed on the same ship as a Margaret Ann Flanigan ( daughter of Edward Flanigan and Margaret Donnelly ) in 1897 to the port of Boston .
Both Annie McCabe and Margaret Ann Flanigan are listed as being from Annyalla . They are right above each other on the ship manifest (Cephalonia )
Annie is listed as going to her sisters on 79 N. Waldron St, Dover , New Hampshire.
Margaret Ann Flanigan is listed as going to her Uncle Donnellys on 4 Atkinson St , Dover , New Hampshire .
Going through the US Census for Dover , NH . There are 2 McCabe families living on Waldon St. and are a few more McCabe families living on other various streets in Dover .
I don't know if you can use any of this information , but I just thought I 'd throw it out there . I really would like to find out if maybe a female Donnelly married into the McCabe family and that is why they are connected .
