Hello
can someone help me with a death or two please
North Edsall Randal Smith
James Nicholson Thompson Smith
George Watts Smith
William Drawbridge Lymington Smith
thanks
regards Jenn

Hi Jenn
A friend just sent me this note from Coherent Software so you may not have too long to wait
The long-awaited Tasmanian Federation Index CD-ROM is expected to be
released during the next few weeks. It will contain indexes to births
1900-1919, and deaths and marriages 1900-1930, that were registered in
the Australian state of Tasmania. This CD-ROM is a Digger(TM) title, and
uses the same Digger Registration system as used in the Northern
Territory Deaths CD-ROM. The CD-ROM will cost $231.
(I find the prices unbelievable - the LDS charge about 1/10 of these prices)
Expected before Christmas is the next in the South Australian
Registrations set of CD-ROMs. South Australian Deaths Registrations
1916-1972 contains, as the title suggests, deaths registered in the
state of South Australia between 1916 and 1972.

HEllo there Trish
thanks for that info
The costs are very high. I beleive the work is done by volunteers, do you know if this is the case?
Does th LDS also sell these, notsure of what you mean?
Well I shall have to start saving now for the SA Deaths
regards Jenn
-
Unfortunately no - the LDS does not sell them - my point being that if they did - it would be very much cheaper.

Hi Jenn
Just to let you know I saw your message re death details of four men.
Unfortunately only deaths of two of the men are recorded in South Australian.
1. James Nicholson Smith aged 79 years of Mitcham died 2nd august 1895 at Mitcham, Informant not recorded, District Adelaide reference book 228 page 250
2. George Watt Smith aged 44 years of Goodwood died 29th April 1911 at Goodwood, informant not recorded, District Adelaide reference book 356 page 330
I could not find birth records for North Edsall Randal Smith and William Drawbridge Lymington Smith 1842=1972

Hi Jen,
Did you find what you were looking for (your message September 2013)?
The Centennial Cemetery Adelaide has an extensive online site and also check the "Adelaide Advertiser" for death notices.
If you have any problems let me know and I'll check the sites for you.
Kind regards
