I need a bit of help to try to find Arthur Kirk in the 1861 census.
He was born April 6th 1847 at Marylebone. In 1851 he is an orphan and living in the Infant Orphans Asylum at Wanstead. He doesn't appear there after 1854 and I am informed that it was common for the 'infant orphans' to transfer to the London Orphans Asylum, Hackney Road, Clapton at the age of seven.
As Arthur will be about 14 in 1861 I'm not sure whether he would be at the Orphans Asylum or not. ??? Is it possible to search the 1861 by address to see if he appears there?
In 1871 he is boarding in Staines, and I have him on all other census returns.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jo.
The London Orphan Asylum in Clapton in the 1861 census is in RG9-159 folio 159-169
I searched through but did not find Arthur.
