Hello, many thanks to everyone who has helped me in the past. I am hoping someone can please give a bit of colour to this little lass. She told me today ( at the old people's home) that her dress was pale pink, her hair was brown with a wee bit of red, & that she was only 4 years when the picture was taken 75 years ago. I know that she would be ecstatic at seeing herself in colour.

Here's my effort.
I can change the colours if you like.
Cheers

Hi Tomkin, it is truly amazing how lovely the colours are, many thanks. Margaret will be delighted with these different styles/colours of her as a little girl.

Can't believe I completely missed her shoes. Here's a quick touch up.

Hi Eilidh
Just had another look at the photo and realised I also missed the watermark, so here's edit No 3 ::)
That wouldn't be Whitehead Studios, Ipswich Qld, Australia by any chance would it, cos if it is, I'm just down the road!!! ;D ;D ;D
Cheers

Hi Cazza, spot on, photo taken at Whitehead Ipswich. On google I found that F A Whitehead was a prominent photographer in the area and they are one of longest running studios in OZ. I hail from Brisbane, small world eh?
Thanks once again for helping me. Margaret is a lovely woman who is in the same nursing home as my mother-in-law. She will be thrilled to see herself in "pink"
Bye for now

Very Small World. I could have probably delivered the photo ;D ;D ;D
By the way, don't know if you know but Whiteheads are still going. They do a lot of photography for schools in the area. I wonder if they still have a copy of your friends photo. I hope she likes them.

Hello again Penny, top job, I think Margaret will be over the moon with all these pictures of her in "pink", they are just great :) You are all so talented.
Cazza yes I saw that Whiteheads are still in operation, one of the few still going after 100years >
bye for now Eilidh

For some reason this looks totally different on the other PC and I have found bits that are wrong so here is the 2nd picture
It is either my eyes or the PC's have different colours on them lol - probably my eyes
Carol
-
It's not your eyes.
Tomkin ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Thanks Tomkin
They always look different when I do them on my laptop to these PC's and the colours stay the same from when I "fix" them to adding them to the thread. With the other PC's they seem to change colour in between stages
Thought I might be needing an eyetest lol

Hi Carol,
I bought an "all singing, all dancing" computer with
a top notch 19" tft screen. I took some photo's of a wedding
and as well as prints, I gave them a C.D. with all the pictures
on. They put it on their computer and they looked awful.
They were amazed when I adjusted their monitor(just like
a tele) and they could see them clearly.
I often wonder what other people see when we have
restored & coloured their photo's.
Tomkin ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Maybe it's because you used my restore by mistake, :)
but I don't mind people using them ;D
-
Thanks YM
I am no good at the restoring spots, creases etc so usually "borrow" someone elses restore to colour.
Yours was fins - it's just these pc's are useless with colour
Carol

That's quite ok Carol, :)
others do it also, I think variety in colours is great, ..... I know what you mean about computer screens, my hubby adjusted this a bit dull, so when I restore photos & print them out they come out lighter, I have to remember so I don't waste my photo paper ::)
