Title: 66th Regiment on Foot
Post by: Gilly W on Wednesday 30 August 06 14:27 BST (UK)
I have recently found out that my gt.gt.gt. grandfather William Moore was in the Army and served in St. Helena. His first born John Moore was shown to be born in 1824 in Ireland - Fermanagh.  I know from his discharge certificate that he came back from the Indies in 1821 and was discharged in 1827.  He married Jane from Peebleshire but I would be interested to try to find out where the regiment was based before ending up in Ireland  (Certificate came from Buttevant). Can anyone point me in the right direction. Thanks.
