Title: Sidcot School, Axbridge - NIGH, HEMMENS

Hello all,

The 1871 census has the NIGH & HEMMENS families resident at Sidcot School, Axbridge.  I was wondering if anyone has any information about this school & can maybe cast some light on the reason for these families being resident?

Hi Adrian

Sidcot School is a Quaker school which has apparently been going since 1700-ish.

Their website www.sidcot.org.uk might give you more info.

So, I guess the  residents would have been quakers & that might explain why I can't find BMD records for them.
