Hi,
Have you checked the Griffiths Valuation for Clendinning families? There are quite a few in Antrim, Armagh, Down, Tyrone, Dublin, Monaghan and Derry.

Hello, Noticed your response (quote above) to Ed, how does one check the "Griffiths Valuation" ? I too am researching CLENDINNING, but mine were from Donegal/Fermanagh areas.... Thank you.

Hi,
There are quite a few different places. I recommend the Hayes site. See my website for links. There's also a very good Fermanagh site.
I didn't see any CLENDINNING in Donegal or Fermanagh... When were they there?

Hi, Thank you for the link, I will check it out. My CLENDINNING'S left Pettigo in 1854. I know they lived there but for how long I'm not sure. Ireland isn't easy to search for any info. I've found nothing on them in my years of trying to research them, I've sort of given up on finding anything on them, and only occasionally post a message in the hopes someone has some sort of connection to them. All I have is information from death certs in Australia, and the passenger list of the ship they came here on-- the "SABRINA". Aslo a small newspaper article written sometime during the late 1800's, about a local bushranger. The family mentioned where they lived in Ireland---- quote; "All born in the County Donegal, the Clendinnings lived in the town of Pettego, which is mainly in the County Fermanagh, but extends across the Mill Stream into Donegal. The Clendinning family lived on the Donegal side in "the first house across the Mill Stream." Thanks again for the link. Cheers!

Hi,
My forbears are the clendinnings. They immigrated to Australia in the Sabrina and had large blocks of land in muswellbrook. One ended up being the mayor.
I have photos of them all.
Regards
Tyrone.
