If anyone has access to fiche of marriage registers for this church please could you look up the marriage of Thomas Clare and Ann Anderson in June quarter of 1876.

Hi Claire

I've been to Birkenhead library tonight so was able to look up the marriage record for you.

Here are the details

5th June 1876   St Annes Church Birkenhead

Thomas Clare 20 Bachelor Birkenhead(occ)Waterman Father- Henry Clare(Waterman)

Ann Anderson 19 Spinster   Birkenhead   Father- Ellis Anderson(Waterman)

No addresses are given - the residences just state 'Birkenhead'

Witnesses are James Clare and Sarah (Martin?)-this surname isn't too clear.

I had a quick look on the census for 1871 + 1881(not much luck with the Andersons in 1871) and the occupations  of Thomas and Ellis are 'Mariners'. If you would like  the census details just let me know.
