:) Hi, I am looking for information regarding Charles Bartram (b abt 1864, buckminster, Leics).  I have the following information :

Elizabeth Bartram, wife, marr, 36 years, born Broadchalke(?)
Frank Bartram, son, 6 yrs, born Broadchalke(?)

I believe he married Elizabeth Kate Bundy in 1893, Jul/Aug/Sept, Wilton, Wiltshire.

Can anyone tell me what Church they could have been married in please?

What about the church(s) the children may have been baptised in?

according to the 1893 Broadchalk, Wilts Marriage documented in the IGI, and from Hugh Wallis excellent grouping of IGI batch numbers, there are only 2 churches in Broadchalk, Wilts.

The CofE 'Parish Church', which is where the Marriage took place - unamed in the IGI records, and an Independant one.

Heres the data from the IGI - otherwise I believe you will have to obtain the GRO Marriage Cert to find out specifically.... HTH

If all the children were baptised (I note that the oldest was also in Broadchalk), you can go straight to the Parish records that have been transcribed:-

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountyWiltshire.htm#PageTitle

and if you werent aware, here's the Civil Marriage GRO Index info ... but I guess thats how you knew it was the Wilton District !

Marriages Sep 1893
Bartram  Charles    Wilton  5a 373
Bundy  Elizabeth Kate     Wilton  5a 373

Scroppers, many thanks.  I have found their marriage 16 Aug 1893, Board Chalk, Wiltshire.  No records of the children's Baptisms.  Is it worth me posting a 'look up request'? Am pretty new to Rootschat and am just finding my way about!

Thanks again.  :)

They may not have had them baptised - they arent in the IGI, altho that isnt proof.

Yes, you could post again - but would the GRO Birth Indexes not be as good ?

Births Jun 1894
Bartram  Richard Frank    Wilton  5a 188

Births Mar 1895 - this one probably not relevant Bartram  Katharine Winifred     Marlbro'  5a 103

Births Mar 1896
Bartram  Charles     Salisbury  5a 146

Births Mar 1898
Bartram  Stanley     Salisbury  5a 166

Births Mar 1900
Bartram  Lionel Robert     Salisbury  5a 180

Scroppers, yes thank you.  The trouble is most of the people I have been searching have been in Leicestershire where I live and am used to being able to look everything up at the local Records Office.  Of course my tree is now branching out to other areas!

Thanks very much for your help  :D

Hi,

Found these two baptisms, both in Laverstock, parents Charles and Elizabeth Kate:

Charles bapt 1 Mar 1896
Stanley bapt 6 Mar 1898

This would be St Andrew's church.

Broad Chalke parish church is dedicated to All Saints.

Would you like me to look for the Bundy family in Broad Chalke or do you already have them?

Hello,
As a new member I have only just read your posting of a few years ago. If you are still interested in Charles & Elizabeth Bartram I have recently discovered that they were my great grandparents so may be able to add some more info to your family tree.
Kind regards.
