Hi, can anyone help me? I am tracing my family tree, and I am trying to find the parents of Joseph Leonard Leleux who married Eliza Bigg of Bethnal Green in 1836. They got the license from Hackney and that is about all we know about them! He was the father of Alexander Leonard Leleux but there is no records relating to his death or on the census of 1881. Can anyone do a search on this rare name!
Thanks

Thanks for trying. Know anyone with an 1851 census that could have a look for me??
This chap could well be first generation French immigrant, hence i'm well and truely stuck on him!!

Where 1861 and before are indexed, it is on a much smaller scale, normally a couple of census pieces.
You might do better if you can indicate likely places within London (with dates)

Couldn't find any in Bethnal Green Shoreditch or Whitechapel 1851
I did find Le Leu in St George in the East HO 107/1549 folio 71
I imagine this is how it would be pronounced. I have someone called Pinoil in my family and this has been changed to Pinwell.
St George in the East is a surname only index. Hopefully someone will look up the reference for you
