Hello again
I know it's probably a bit presumptuous of me to have two posts within a short space of time, so I apologize!
I'm interested in a Genealogical Journal written by a Lady Gervis/Jervis, which apparently has entries concerning the Jervis's & other related families going back to the 1500s. Has this journal been published? If not would anybody know which archive it is housed in?
Thanks
Jayson

Hi Jayson,
Came across an entry on this site where it looks as if someone actually owns a copy. Perhaps they could help.

Hi Cathy
Sorry that I haven't responded sooner to thank you for responding to my post - I've just got back from holiday.
Thank you very much for the link - I will certainly chase this up.

Jason:
Any luck in locating a copy of the journal? I think we may be tracking some of the same Jervises. I believe that Eleanor Jervis, b. 1670 died in Wistaston in 1770, buried 6/28/1770 under the name Mrs. Bayley and her age is given as 100. In 1694 Elizabeth and James Bayly had a daughter, christened in Wistaston on 7/24/1694. Sources are: Cheshire Parish Registers 1538-2000 and Cheshire Bishop's Transcripts 1598-1900 respectively. James Bailey dies in Wistaston in 1747, the traditional date in the Staffordshire Jervis genealogy. Burial was 4/29 and the source is Cheshire Parish Registers 1538-2000.
My ancestral search dead ends in Wistaston in 1742 with the birth of my forebear James Jervis to John and Mary Jervis. There was an Ellen Gervis born to Robert Gervis in 1626, christened October 29, in Wistaston (Cheshire Bishop's Transcripts 1598-1900 but nothing else to do with the family besides Eleanor is recorded until the birth of James' brother John in 1738.
