Hi,
I am seeking any information about the family of John DOLBEY-DOLBY-DALBY.
I am told he was born 13 Dec 1792 (presume ENGLAND)
He was married to Margaret (maiden name unknown) and marriage details unknown, but it may have been in Kent.
They had a daughter, Margaret, in 1825-26, supposedly in KENT.
Another daughter was baptised in Hampshire.
The next mention I have of John is a marriage to Sarah GREENWAY in 1830 in Dover.
I would love to find the birth for Margaret and the death of the mother, also Margaret, and the marriage for John and Margaret.
(I have the second marriage to Sarah GREENWAY and baptisms of their children)

a bit late but more light looms.
john if the date of birth of 13 dec 1792 is correct was baptized on 23 dec 1792 in bradford, yorkskire, england.
he then married sarah faulkes in Chelsham,Surrey,England on 1 aug 1820
she dies at some stage and he marries/partners margaret they have a at least one confirmed daughter
lucinda is baptized in alverstoke hampshire on 9 nov 1928 she married frederick worseldine my 3rd great grad uncle.
margaret dies on 1 sep 1829 in dover kent
and john then marries sarah (greenaway) holiman on 18 oct 1830
they have 3 confirmed children alice, edward, and william.
they sail on the 28 apr 1836 on board the AMELIA THOMPSON landing in launcestor van diemen's land on 25 august 1836. also on board as free passangers were georginana, margaret and wilhelima dolbey surgesting the info about sarah faulkes is correct.
there is of course pleanty of time for john to have been married before 1820 to another person.
the info for most of this can be found on familysearch pilot.

hi Judy,
never too late!
thank you very much for the details, some I knew, and some I didnt.
I have a little pre Tasmania, and lots from when they arrived in TAS to the present time.
I am descended from Edward, son of John and Sarah (nee Greenway).
I am not aware of what family search pilot is.
I would be interested to know the sources to confirm the marriage to Sarah Faukes and the death of Margaret. How would I find these, do you know?
happy to help with anything that I might be able to.
kind regards
Louise

hi
my connection is via lucinda who married fred worseldine (a convict) his sister was my 3 x gg mother.
i have the hampshire bmd discs issued by the hampshire genecological society which has lucinders baptism on and copled with the fact i live just on the edge of london with i direct link to hampshire and other record offices some of which i can reach in less tan two hours just wish i had more time (i,m asingle mum)
all you need do to find familysearch pilot is go to
familysearch.org
go to second tab on the blue band at top
'search records'
run your curser over it and the options will appear. its the second one down
choosing this will open a new window so using a browser like ie7 (or higher) or monzilla is the best choice. in this way you have both the normal family search where the igi is along with the info submitted by users and the pilot which containe ONLY the NEW and OLD transcribed recordswhich have been taken from parish records and contain NO user submitted records. the site as a whole is under going change so you might from time to time get down times while they either add records or change the interface. the site will into become new.familysearch.org goole that to learn more or goole familysearch labs for the verious enharnsments they plan to add.
as to the sailing some info is on the net by just putting in the name of the ship and i also use ancestry for a lot of my research along with the record offices in london and the home counties and help from others who have certs that i can't obtain or aford for my non direct ancestors. so any help would be greatfully recived.
my tree is up on verious sites but the most often updated is on rootsweb and my data base is wandering. just put in lucinda DOLBY's name and you should find it.

I have to say that I have the DOLBY family marrying into my tree, and they are a nightmare, because they move around so much ! :)
