Title: Connections to DOWLINGs
Post by: Ferg on Saturday 05 August 06 09:15 BST (UK)
I am seeking connections to Patrick Charles Dowling whose father was John Dowling, occupation Farmer.  Patrick moved to Liverpool and the earliest I can trace him is in the 1871 census as a collector for the friendly burial society.  I know he had brothers and sisters but don't know their names, however two of his sisters were nuns.  Patrick married Elizabeth Barker Paterson.

Hi, my great great grandmother was Eliza (Elizabeth) Dowling. She eloped with my great, great grandfather, Joseph Quinn, a farmer's son from Davidstown, Carlow. Circa  1870/75. They came to Birkenhead, Merseyside (across the river from Liverpool.) Could this be the same Dowling family? Trish
