Title: Barnwells
Post by: Barny on Sunday 31 October 04 09:50 GMT (UK)
I am looking to find any Barnwells with a family connection to Dublin from about 1840 or before.
Thanks,
Barny.

Barny,

There were Barnwells in nine Dublin parishes ... Castleknock, Clondalkin, Holywood, Kilmactalway, Portmarnock,
St Brides, St Catherines, St James and St Peters at the time of Griffith's Valuations in Dublin in 1848-51.

Chris;
           Thank You for your reply.I have checked a rather basic Griffiths valuation site.It seems to me that people are listed twice?
          Is parish a civil parish? How does civil parish corespond with a church parish?
