Can anyone help please.
Does the 1841 Census show place of birth if from another paris/region.
I am trying to track down William Price, son of John and Mary, bap 3 Sep 1769 Great Waltham and married Sarah Smith, 27 Oct 1792.
He may have passed away by 1841 and he had the following children.
William bn 25 Dec 1792 bap 13 Jan 1793(transported to Australia 1816), John bn 11 Mar 1795 Billericay, Sarah bn 31 May 1797 Billericay, James bn 9 Feb 1802 Billericay

Hello Funnell
The 1841 states if the person has been born within the census County.............
Y or Yes for born in County
N or No for not born in County
I have seen the County an individual has been born when other than the census County...............ONCE and you could equate it to winning the lottery!
ANYWAY...............below are the only Price's in Great Burstead (Billericay) in 1841...............
Mary may still be alive in 1841? and is Mary Peering aged 45 her daughter?
1841 census
Cox Farm, Great Burstead, Essex
John Peering 45 ag lab yes
Mary " 45 yes
John " 24 yes
/
MARY PRICE 80 + yes
/
Thomas Wood 23 ag lab yes
Sarah " 24 yes
/
Emma Church 13 yes
-------------------------
1841
Chapel Street, Billericay, Great Burstead, Essex
William Price 25 j carpenter yes
Mary Anne " 20 yes
William " 2 yes
Mary Anne " 2 months yes
Robert Crick 40 ag lab yes
--------------------------
* 1841 census had a rule on age
ie
20-25=20
25-30=25
45-50=45 etc

Hi Bryant.
Thanks for the 1841 Census info.
I feel the connection may be there due to the Billericay link, however my Mary, William's mother, had her first child in 1757, which given her probable age at that time, would make her over 100 at the time of the census.
Thanks again, at least it gives me another avenue to follow.
rgds.
Harry
PS I have realized, the Mary mentioned may well be the wife of Thomas, William's elder brother. Thanks again.
