				   1861 census request lookup.

Looking for William Frankish, born  1852 Hunmanby, Yorkshire.  So he would be about 8 or 9 years old.

There is a Christening Feb 26 1852 on LDS records that might be mine, whose mother is listed as Bessy Frankish..No father mentioned.

In 1895, William Frankish  had a business in Manchester. He was married to Ann (Slack)  He was a master bootmaker. His shop was at 515 Stockport Rd Manchester.
Nearby was another Frankish, a John M. Frankish at 535 Stockport rd, a Boiler Inspector. I wondered if they might be brothers, so I hope he  shows up on the 1861 census too.

 Thanks

Hi Darcy, thank you so much for your help. I am very grateful.  :)  It was nice of you to try to find John too   It seemed so much of a coincidence, their having businesses so close to each other.  I now have another generation of the Frankish family back in time thanks to you.

				Darcy,

do you have access to the 1851? Is Thomas Frankish on there?

I have found out that Thomas Frankish, b 1801 Ag Lab,
( grandfather of my William Frankish) and  widower on the 1861, was married to Estha/Esther (Martha) nee Cross. She died in 1855.

 Thanks

I'll have a look for you.

				Hello there,

I'm related to William Frankish born 1852 in Hunmanby. I see that people, notably griz, have been collecting information about him and I was wondering if we could compare notes.

This is my first post so I'm still finding my way around the site. Hope someone picks it up as it is a reply to an old post. Can't do PMs just yet.

 Thanks

Hi pool1, welcome  :).  PMs are a bit confusing to a new member, I know I had trouble with them too.  William Frankish was an interesting man. He was a master bootmaker  He was also a Lay preacher.   I will send you a PM.  :)
