Title: Curtin / Jago(e) of Cork City
Post by: Peter J on Thursday 20 July 06 15:49 BST (UK)
Looking for information on Curtin/Jago(e) of Cork City.

Thomas Curtin and Margaret (Maggie) Curtin nee Jago(e)

Children:
Patrick Curtin b.1897 - my Grandfather (married Hannah Mary O’Shea in 1920)
Mary Anne Curtin
Catherine (Kate) Curtin
Thomas Curtin
Elizabeth (Lizzie) Curtin

Patrick volunteered for the Royal Navy in 1913 at the age of 16 years after surviving the horrors of the notorious Fishery School in Baltimore, Cork.

He served in WW1 and was at the Battle of Jutland in 1916 aboard HMS Princess Royal.

Patrick & Hannah moved to Dagenham, Essex, England in the late 1930s.

Any information greatly appreciated.

Hi Peter,
I'm touching base from Australia. I'm descended from Thomas Curtin Stevedore and Mary Scannell of Cork City. Their Son John Curtin came out to Australia in 1854. I thought I'd touch base with you before providing more information.
Best wishes,
Rowena Curtin
