Hello, I'm wondering if anyone will be making a trip to Allerton Cemetery( I was told they hold all burial records for Liverpool) any time soon. I have a ancestor buried in a private plot in Toxteth cemetery with no MI. I'm trying to find out who else is buried in the plot.
This is the information that I have been provided with thus far:
Toxteth Park Cemetery Burial Register ( C of E section )
No. 88733, 21st Jan 1902, Frederick James Askew, 56 years, Coachman, Greenbank Lane, Toxteth Park,
Subsequent burial, Section 4, No.466
Many thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff
According to this site http://liverpool-ancestors.co.uk/index.html
the records are at Liverpool Records Office who are at http://archive.liverpool.gov.uk/
:( but they charge for research services.
Hope this helps
Wendi :)

Allan,
Thanks for the offer, someone from another forum has already gone to the library and found the information regarding Frederick and the 2 others intured with him.
Perhaps they could look for Frederick's wife, Agnes Askew b. approx 1848 to see if she is as buried in Toxteth Park cemetery. The thing is, I dont know when or where she died. She does show up in the 1901 census, but beyond that I dont have any facts.
If thats to much to ask, I understand.
All the best,
Jeff

hi jeff...sorry to say ,no info on agnes at allerton or toxteth cemeteries.....if agnes moved out of the south end of liverpool to the north end she may be interned at anfield ...walton...or netherton cemeteries...my mate has had a good look through records and can`t find anything on agnes in allerton....but have to say allerton is a very very large cemetery...still searching for you...if i come up with anything i`ll contact you...p.s. did agnes marry again...if so what was her 2nd married name....if not `ll keep searching...we`ll find her in the end...regards...allan
-
Allen,
Thanks for the reply, I'm unsure if she remarried. I know she was living at Greenbank Lane, Toxteth in Jan 1902 ( the time of her husbands death) after that, I dont know what happened to her.
Thanks Allen

hi jeff...don`t want to appear ignorant but i haven`t a lot of time at the moment...agnes askew re-married in 1903 ...registered at west derby ,lancashire jan-feb-march quarter (info received)...can you sift through these records and let me know who she married?? she married roughly 12-15 months after fredericks death (i am presuming that its your agnes askew..could well be another agnes askew)...keep me informed..maybe able to find agnes`s burial under new surname...regards...allan
-
hi jeff...agnes askew married matthew clapham in march 1903 in west derby ref no west derby 8b 449....if its your agnes...allan
-
Allen, I know what you mean about not having alot of time and I appreciate the time you have spent. I will order the cert. and see if its the right Agnes and go from there.
