Looking for information of the Lloyd family and my GG Grandfather's 2nd marriage to Emma Jane Lloyd b.21 June 1857 Pontypool. From her marriage certificate I know her father's name is James Lloyd.
Some further info:
William PHILLIPS b. Jun 21, 1846 Pembrokeshire (we think Haverfordwest although having trouble locating a birth cert). Son of David PHILLIPS born? in Haverfordwest who was a shoemaker. William's mother as yet unknown.
William m.[1] to Ruth RICHARDS from the Crymych area. Children include: William, b. ca. 1867, Steynton; Anne, b. ca. 1871, Llangiwg, Glamorgan; Phoebe b. ca. 1874, Llangiwg.
William (widower) m.[2] Jan 29, 1880, Pontardawe, Glamorgan, to Emma LLOYD, b. Jun 21, 1860, Pontypool, Monmouthshire, daughter of James LLOYD. Children: Eliza Jane, b. Jan 29, 1881, Ystalyfera, Glamorgan (m. Walter BENDLE); Eunice Matilda, b. Jul 16, 1884 Glais, Ynysymond, Glamorgan (m. Dr George JENKINS) , d. Oct 16, 1955, Slova, Pembrokeshire; Sydney James, b. Oct 10, 1886, d. Feb 26, 1887; Maurice, b. Apr 16, 1888, Glais (m. Annie Sophia DAY), d. Sep 20, 1957, Melincourt, Neath, Glamorgan; Albert, b. Apr 15, 1891, Glais (m. Diana JENKINS, emigrated 1911 to Colorado, USA), d. Feb 1970; and Walter James, b. Oct 13, 1894, Glais, d. Feb 28, 1965, Melincourt.
In 1871 William & Ruth lived at Altygrug Road, Llanguike.
In 1881 William & Emma lived at Gors-yr-helyg, Llangiwg.
In 1891 William & Emma lived at NIcholas Road, Llansamlet.
In 1901 William & Emma lived at Stable Houses, Ynysymond.
William d. Jan 1, 1915, Station Road, Glais; Emma d. Apr 10, 1939, 85 High Street, Clydach. I believe both are buried in St John & St Mary church yard, Clydach High Street.
Many Thanks Emma

Hi Emma, does it give an occupation for James on Emma's marriage cert?
Regards
Kate.

Where did you get her date of birth from? as I've found this family in the 61 but Emma isn't with them, says she was born in 1862, as it does on the 81 when she's with William Phillips.

:D
Kate, what can I say! Thank you so much for all of this! This has to be Emma's family and yes, it seems she named all her children after her siblings!
Next step I suppose would be a birth cert for Emma.
Thanks Again!
Emma

No problem, I've had a look for an Emma Jane Lloyd, the only one was registered in Monmouth around that time. Is it possible that she added the Jane on later as a tribute to her mum? I've found an Emma Lloyd that fits

A star you are!
Question: Would Panteg and Pontypool be one and the same place?
-
I think Panteg is a registration district of Pontypool, I'm not sure though. Its close to Pontypool anyhow.
Let me know if you need anymore assistance!
All the best
Kate.
