This is a picture of my mother Jessie May Mathias, taken when she was eight years old, that would be in 1909, if anyone wants to use the costume for dating purposes.
I have never known it anything other than a brown fading photo.
Could someone dust it down and spruce it up for me? It would be lovely to see it clearly.
Bless you in advance.

Little bit choaked up at the minute, guys.
Polly, David, Skippy, you all have your own way of doing things and the results are brilliant. I can't choose one that I like best, they are all so lovely. Thank you, very, very much, it's so lovely to see the photo properly at last.

Ooooh, polldoll, thank you. Do you know, I think your dolly is looking down at Jessie's dolly. I wonder if they have a little chat when we switch off.
-
Here's my try though I am not happy with the rug colour - just can't seem to get the shade I want

Carol, it's not very often I'm speechless, but you've taken my breath away. Be blowed with the colour of the carpet. Fantastic.
-
That bad eh? lol
Only joking - Thanks so much for that - makes each photo I try to colour that bit easier. Cannot match the experts here but with all the practice I am getting it should get easier for me
Have to admit the greenery on the trellis and behind had me working hard
Glad you like it

I think you are probably right! In fact they could be sisters ... or even the same doll! I found mine in a old junk shop sale 10 years ago! I just had to have her!

Just you keep at it, Carol, it's great. As for the greenery up the trellis, it's roses. just think yourself lucky they weren't out.
You should see the washed out picture I have of Grandfather William Stevens(shock horror I have just found it was sometimes spelt Stephens) with his first grand daughter. It's roses all the way.
Won't give you that one......yet.... ;D
-
Good thing I enjoy challenges isn't it? lol Mind you all those roses owuld have made me crazy so glad it was too early for them.
Was the doll a gift on her confirmation?
Just shout me when you put the other picture on here

All right, you asked for it, you two. The picture isn't in too bad a condition, but it's pretty brown and foggy. Typical back garden scene, I think that's a tea chest and an old tin tub I can see there.
But isn't it sweet, the Grandfather with the little child, tucked between the trellis and the step ladder. It's so homely.
I've started it on a new run title Little Nellie and Grandfather William.
Over to you.
