Title: Coloring Jewelry
Post by: roadrunner465 on Friday 07 July 06 03:03 BST (UK)
Can anyone give me an idea how to color jewelry is the necklace or ring is really thin. Does one use a small Brush, if so what kind. Do you lasso or just paint.
I am using CMYK and working with layer masks, but I cannot seem to get either the colors correct or the lines thin enough.
It is not easy to manipulate the colors using masks, and it is impossible to lasso or make a selection.
This might be a foolish question, but if I complete coloring the person and leave out either the watch and or necklace the work is incomplete.
Thanks for your help. If you have a diagram and or info that would help I would appreciate it.

Hi,

I don't know what CMYK or layer masks are... but if you use adobe, I would just select the area, color it, and then use the eraser tool to get rid of excess.

Hi Pixie  :)

Yep, that's the way I do it as well.  It's the easiest way I've found.  In fact I do all my colourising this way, having not mastered masks or brushes.  I reckon it works just as well  :)

Good luck Joy!  Let us know how you get on.

Fantastic stuff. I have found coloring much easier by coloring with layers. Leonie told me how to do it and I have managed to color several pics, something I have not done before.
I use CYMk instead of RGB because I can get a better color choice.
These pics really help me. You know what they say Pics are worth a thousands words.
Thanks for your time and effort
