James & Jane Armistead migrated to Australia in 1855 with four children, Charles (b 1841), Sarah (b 1842), Alice (b 1845), and Elizabeth (b1849). Two other children (John Thomas & Sussana) had died before their departure

also seem to be missing a few other children.

So only the 1841 census will give information on James :) Will try and find his father, do you know if he was a shoemaker?

Not sure if this helps but I noticed an address High Street
novas.

Novas could be an abbrievation of Nova Scotia which is
an area of Blackburn not to far from Higher Audley.
