Hi everyone,
I am trying to find a passenger list for the AUSTRALIND that departed from London to Fremantle, Western Australia on the 20th March 1912.
My grandmother, uncle and mother sailed on that ship.
My Grandmother: Louisa Florence Larner 32
Uncle : Herbert 5
Mother : May 2
I can find no record of passenger lists for this time. The lists I have found are for ships arriving in the 1800s.
Can anyone help me with passenger lists for this time and ship?

http://www.naa.gov.au/the_collection/family_history/immigration/passenger_lists.html - it looks like the NAA have the original records and will make copies for you - Fremantle lists they have from 1898 so it should be possible.

Thanks Jorose,
I have looked in the Archives before and there doesn't seem to be any reference to the Australind. In fact there is a gap in the records between 1910 and 1914.
I am starting to wonder now that even though the ticket for the trip to Australia was for the Australind maybe they sailed on a different ship.
I will keep searching,
Thanks again,
Ozigirl.

Hi Ozigirl,
If the NAA doesn't have the records, you could try the state records office in WA. The decade or two post-federation were a bit fuzzy with regards to who had responsibility for recording immigration and shipping etc. so the records may be with the state rather than federal authority.

If it's not too late for you, this passenger list is now online. Go to www.ancestorsonboard.com and either use ship search, then click on "browse by ship" and look for the Australind, or else search by surname. Interestingly, there were other Larners on the same voyage.
The boat appears to have left on 30th not 20th of the month.
Hope this helps!

Thankyou so much Grey squirrel,
Up til your email I had run into a brick wall trying to find the Australind. My Grandmother, Uncle and Mother were on board. I also found my Grandfather who sailed on the Orsova in 1911.
Thanks heaps,
Ozigirl.
