Title: 1831 census look up please

Hi
PLease can someone look up the family of

James Greaves b 1800  in Lancaster d 1873
married
Ann Whitfield b 1803 in Chorley d?

They had 4 children
Mary Hannah b 1834
James Whitfield b1837
Edward b 1841
George Whitfield b 1844

on the census 1841 they were living at Union Street and James occ was a shoemaker

Unfortunately there is no 1831 census!!!!!!!!!!! :o

The 1841 census is the earliest back for the UK!

If you contact the Lancs Record Office in Preston, there are a very few Parishes with the old 1801 - 1831 census still extant, from memory these include Whalley (Clitheroe), Broughton, Eccleston, Prescot/Penketh, Ashton under Lyne & Great Bolton township of Bolto le Moors - and the whole of Liverpool City 1801 in Liverpool Central Library

Many are just headcounts with Household Head named, some have more info. 1841 is really the 1st 'useful' census ...
