Title: AMY CAHILL - born Dublin
Post by: Chrispy on Tuesday 27 June 06 20:43 BST (UK)
My ggrandmother was Alice Cahill but this was her married name.  Her first husband was a policeman, when he was killed she moved to England and married my ggrandfather. She had a daughter Amy born in Dublin in 1880. This is the only information I have apart from Alice being born in Kilkenny. Is there a BMD for Ireland?   - Any information would be wonderful

Hello Chris,

What denomination were the Cahill family?

Hello Chris,

If Widow Alice Cahill remarried in England her maiden name would normally be on that marriage certificate. Her maiden name will also be on the birth certificate's of any children born in England.

Good luck.
