Hi All,
I am keen to confirm the marriage of my g g grandfather William George CLAPPERTON to Elizabeth possibly "Occleshead" in Prestwich about 1870. If I have conformation it will make things easier for application to GRO. Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Good Morning David........Free BMD have a marriage for a
William George Clapperton to Elizabeth Occleshead or Sarah Hunt in June Quarter 1868..Bolton.
I have checked    UKBMD (these give you the actual Church) but Bolton do not seem to have been put on yet.
Copy of this marriage can be obtained from Bolton...Volume 8c Page  431.

Free BMD also have a marriage for a Walter Clapperton to Caroline Pulham June Quarter 1868  in Chorlton. UKBMD have this area on line the Church that Walter married in is Holy Trinity,Hulme.
