Title: FreeBMD & Postems
Post by: pierce-brosnan on Wednesday 10 May 06 10:56 BST (UK)
Morning everyone,

I've just been on the freebmd website and found an entry for a marriage that I am interested in.  I decided to click on the red 'info' button at the end of the name and a new page opens up.  It says 'Add a Postem' where you can leave information.

Q: Can you enter the information from that particular certificate so that the next person looking at that name doesn't have to pay £7.00 for the information or is there some legal stuff that says you can't??

Thanks, Vanda  ;D

Just seen this on another list ..................

FreeBMD has postem's that you can fill in. very small and basic, but very
useful.

if you find a relative or ancestor you know in the freebmd list, and they
have "info" in red next to their listing, click on it to access the post-em
window. we can save each other tons of fees for wrong certificates if we do
this, and maybe net us some missing cousins, as well. I'm going back and
adding postems to all of my people so it will help others. I have at least
100 individuals, and I don't think I'm going to do it for all three records
if they're available-usually one would search for all three records of an
individual, so I hope that will suffice. and the early ones only have a
death record, if we're lucky, so that's what I'm heading for.

so, here's another way to find our relatives.
