Title: Boxing ???

Hi

As a last resort, would anyone know anything about Boxing????

My great-grandfather was a Heavyweight Boxer and I have been told he won many cups.

Would these have been professional fights or bouts?  I thought bouts were illegal?

I'd like to find out more about boxing in the early 1900's.

Hi,  I have just seen your info.  I have just found details about one of my uncle who I didnt even know boxed  professionally, but he fought the brother of johnny farr what a surprise.  I am attaching the website  and  Miles is such a helpful man.

I know a good  bit about I found my great uncle and grandas records .This link is boxrec were it says enter the name of fighter top left type his name in there if he boxed pro you should find him and his record.
