Mary Swan was a convict transported to Tasmania on board "Angelina" in 1844, aged 19, stated to be born Glasgow and tried in Glasgow Court of Tristy ?, 20/09/1843.
Australian history is well documented but anything on Glasgow times would be appreciated. A Census search 1841 shows a Mary Swan aged 15 as a resident? of Glasgow North Prison which seems to tie up give or take a year.
Where can I get Court records from? Also details of parents, siblings etc.

Max,
The National Archives of Scotland has criminal court records and has several Mary Swan cases listed. Here is a link to the search page.

There was also a James Swan (born c 1821) in the same prison at the same time. Not sure if they are related.
