Many thanks for your help Kris, Obed married Sarah but I'm not sure if it was in Somerset, NZ or some other place?
The marriage doesn't show up FreeBMD.
Thanks to for all the extra too Alli, I'm sure its the same family.

The Obediah Hosegood who died in Ilminster in 1922, was born in 1854 in Westbury on Trym, Bristol. His parents were Obediah Hosegood (1827-1902) and Mary Ann Corner (1821-1877). Both died in Bristol. Obediah senior was born St Decumus (sp??) near Williton (I think), Somerset. Mary Ann was born Stockbrooke (sp??), Devon. They married at Williton in 1849. Obediah senior was a Corn Merchant and farmer. He had two sons and five daughters. He appears to have lived both at Woodland House, Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol, and at Dillington Farm, Ilminster.
Hope this helps

Thanks Sleepless2,
It now looks like we have 3-4 generations of Obed Hosegood - my next challenge is to get 1851 & even 1841 census data to join these families all
together.
Take care, rchadz

hello Rick
I am researching the Hosegood family tree for my husband, he is the great grandson of Obed and Sarah.
Looking at your former chats I was wondering if you are connect in some way? And if you are how? I have details of their children and the children of Catherine (Obed's second wife).
looking forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards
Lillian Hall

Hi Lillian,
Thanks for your question. Catherine Martin (Obed's second wife) is my 3rd great grandmother through her 2nd marriage (Joseph Singleton m 1860 in Ireland). I was not aware that Catherine and Obed had children - or at least I have none recorded.
I am happy to share information with you, most of which has been gathered by my Mum (Glenys Arnold).
The tree goes:
Rick Chadderton
Glenys Arnold
Lois Hobson
Ellen Miranda Fletcher
Elizabeth Jane Singleton b abt 1860 County Down, Ireland
Catherine Margaret Martin
I hope this helps.
Regards, Rick Chadderton
