Hello,

Is anyone here from Wickford?

I'm trying to find a pub called 'The Castle Inn'. My ancestors lived next door to it. I tried googling it, but couldn't find anything.

Just wondering what street its on, as the street name isn't mentioned on the census return.

Just trying to find a picture, hopefully the houses next door will be on it.

Just read the pub was demolished to make way for a supermarket in 1998, chances are my Ancestors house was too! :(

Just googled a map, High Street is right next to the railway, and my 2 x Great Grandad was a Sub Inspector, so perticuly happy now!

I have been away looking for an Essex book of ours which may have had a picture in it, but it must be one that is packed away :-\ We downsized last year and do not have enough storage space ??? When we find it I will remember to look for you.

hi there thought you might like to know the castle pub is still in wickford on the high street but there are no houses next door to it its a big car parking area and yes it is near the main southend kingscross railway line. i lived there up to three and half years age
