I am trying to determine when William Henry Mitchell came to the Bristol area. He is recorded on the 1881 Census, married and with children living in Bristol with the occupation of a Marine Store dealer.
If some one could check the 1871 Census for the Bristol area for William H. Mitchell, it would be appreciated. William would have been approx. 17 years of age. At the age of 20 William was married in Bristol so I am presuming he may have been in the Bristol area by the age of 17.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Hi Ruth:
Sorry for the delay in replying...Christmas and all that holiday fun took over. In reply to your question, NO, William Henry Mitchell was not born in Bristol. As far as I know he was born in Bridport, Dorset, approx. 1854.
