Title: Apprentice Records - Edinburgh/Leith
Post by: 1wycombe on Saturday 10 June 06 18:01 BST (UK)
I'm trying to find the apprenticeship records for two of my ancestors.
Thomas Thomson, born about 1820, lived in Leith and was a blacksmith's apprentice.
Thomas's brother, Alexander Thomson, born about 1826, also of Leith, is listed as an Engineer apprentice.
Does anyone have access to Edinburgh/Leith apprentice records for the period 1830s/1840s?

Any other information on Thomas Thomson(1820-1900) and his spose, Elizabeth Glen, also welcome.

Hi

These records are on Ancestry.com

Also if you Google  "Midlothian Apprentice Records" you should get a link to a book digitised by Google which gives lots of information about apprentices in the area
