Hi there, I'd be extremely grateful if someone could look up Jeremiah Crump born around 1798, in the 1821 census in Wellington, Shropshire. I have found Jeremiah in the 1841 living with his second wife Ann and family. I think at the time of the 1821 he could be living with his first wife Martha. I'm hoping there may be a clue to his parents somewhere!
Many thanks!

Hi Mike, thanks so much for that. This is the problem I have, my Jeremiah states in the 1841 that he is 43, however the key thing here is that the second wife of Jeremiah, Ann and their kids (Jeremiah died in 1844) are living in Walker St in the 1851 census. May be a big coincidence, but unlikely. So having the street really helps, thank you!
I now just need to figure out who Jeremiah's parents are. I've always noticed a pedigree resource file on the IGI, which has a big line of Jeremiah Crump's from the Wellington/Wrekin Hill area, but have always been a bit tentative about assuming that it's my family. Especially with the near 10 year age difference problem with the Jeremiah's, but this is another step closer!
Many thanks again,
Lesley

Did you feel there might be a connection between Mary Harris and William Harris and so perhaps Jeremiah Snr was father to Jeremiah Jnr??????
-
I think there is a very good chance that Jeremiah 78, is my Jeremiah's father, the IGI lists Jeremiah Crump born 1743, Wrekin Hill married to Margaret Stanworth in Wellington 1768. I have no idea who the Harris family are. Martha's last name was Briscoe, so maybe it could be her mother's name.
Jeremiah Crump and Martha Briscoe married in Wellington in 1814, but I have no idea if they had any children.
Best Regards,
Lesley

Hi again, is it possible for you to list the other Crump families in the area at the time? It may give me a much needed clue!
Many thanks,

Thanks Mike, it all helps. I think John may be Jeremiah's son.
I don't suppose you know if Broseley had a census taken in 1821?
Many thanks again, much appreciated.
