Hi SJ
Proberbly the best way to find the parents would be to purchase the birth certificate from the
http://www.cheshirebmd.org.uk/
There is a listing for him in the birth section 1855 Stockport
Can you give us his brothers name and age if he is on the 1851 we may be able to help.

Hi
Looking on 1871 it has John Edward as being born in Oaksey Wiltshire 1843 which means the family may not be on the 1841 for Stockport.
I did find these death records on the Cheshire BMD
Cheshire Death indexes for the years: 1847
JEFFERIES Bradford 0 Stockport First Stockport ST1/16/36
Cheshire Death indexes for the years: 1852
JEFFERIES Emma Letitia 0 Stockport First Stockport ST1/23/94
Cheshire Death indexes for the years: 1868
JEFFERIES Harriet Ann 3 Stockport First Stockport ST1/52/38
which seem to suggest that the family could be in Stockport in 1851.
I think the best bet is the purchase of the birth certificate for Bradford Jeffries (1855) then we will be certain who we are looking for.

Hi
Good news and bad news I am afraid, with the details you have provided I have found referances in the 1851 census to both the National School and the name Jefferies both in the same series of folio numbers, the bad news is that the relavent census pages are in such a poor condition that I cannot read them. I would advise you contact Cheshire Records office at this link,
https://www.cheshire.gov.uk/recoff/eshop/genhist.htm
give them the details and request a copy of the folio.
quote reference HO107-2156-FOLIO 769
thier copy should be a lot better than mine.
I do not not know anything about the National school apart from the fact it existed in Wellington Road Stockport, in the 1851 census between folios 742 and 774, and would have been one of the many private schools that existed prior to compulsary education.
good luck
