Hi looks like you found one half of the duo as I said it was a long shot that they were in Essex as early as 1851 and Alexander got married and went OZ,thanks for looking.

Hi I have just joined and was looking for Polwarth and saw your message. I think it maybe that both James and Alexander were the younger brothers of my great, great grandfather David. He went to Woodford Green in Essex. I would be interested to know a bit more about what happened to them if you have any information.

Hi Katlie
I think you are correct abut the relationship between the brothers.
WILLIAM POLWARTH/ELISABETH BAIRD had 4 children at Foulden between 1818 & 1824
WILLIAM POLWARTH/ELISABETH BAIRD had DAVID, JAMES, ALEXANDER & MARGARET at Whitsome and Hilton 1826 – 1833, plus GEORGE 1835 at Ladykirk.
In 1841 most of the family are at Dykethead, Whitsome and Hilton, plus Young Polwarth age 4.
