Title: roskell burial,old southampton cemetery
Post by: daffey1955 on Tuesday 06 June 06 04:11 BST (UK)
Hullo All
Our ancestor Mary Charlotte Roskell died; 28-2-1895 ,aged 77yrs. She  is buried in Old Southampton Cemetery Section B10,Grave no.170 with 4mnth old Charles Hubert Roskell (not sure as yet who he is) .
Would it be possible for anyone who takes their digital camera into this cemetery to see if there is  a headstone for Mary Roskell and take a photo of it for us .
Thank you from
Michelle Evans of Sydney Aus

 Hi,
I will try to get up to the cemetery for you in the coming week.  I also have a relative buried there, (an aunt, dad,s sister),  I want to try to find her resting place so I can kill two birds with one stone. (OOoh, I guess I could have put that a little better).
I feel that I must warn you though, the last time that I did this for somebody I had one hell of a job to get the pics to her. It took about five weeks and several "experts" mucking about with my 'pooter before my cousin managed to send them.  I,m a neanderthal on this thing, if it aint got a wooden handle then I do not understand it !!      Anyway, I will willingly have a good look about for you.   Regards, Mick.

Dear Mick,
Thank you very much but someone else has already found the headstone for me and taken a picture. From what I saw and what they told me,it will be a very large job to find anyone in that cemetery. They sent me a small map of a very large area . It seems to be very overgrown etc .Our headstone was under bushes and unfortunately we could not read it .We hope yours is in better condition .
You may possibly need an elephant and a gun, and a few natives who live in the area may help to carry the  camping equipment.
Thank you very much again for you kindness and I hope you have a wonderful time looking for your relative .
Regards
Michelle from Sydney Australia
