Hi There
i am looking for a photograph of St Ambrose C of E Church Prince Edwin St Everton - does anyone know if this still exists and has anyone have a photo? ::)
My great Grandma & Granddad were married there and my Grandmother and her sisters were probably christened there.
Many Thanks :D

Hi Jan,
Sorry to say that St. Ambrose's has been demolished, not sure when and has been replaced by a newly built St Peter's, Rose Vale I think.
I myself was married there in the 1960's as were most of my family. I will get my wedding photo's out and see if there is a decent photo of the outside of the church but, I know that the inside had a more modern look then, so will not be as it was when your Gt. Grandparents were married there.

Hi Jan, Mary Ellen's right [ye still don't wear the shawl,do ye girl.lol] , it's gone. but, if you write to the Liverpool Echo, and place the request in on a saturday, i think you'll have a decent chance of someone having a photie!, as there's always loads of old photo's being sent in and printed.

Hi Jan
No photo unfortunately but go to this website, there is some useful info on there about the church and all the others in Liverpool.

Hi Jan,
A guy named Paul Bolger published (in 2000) a series of books with photographs, street directories etc of Liverpool in the early 1900s. I know he has a large collection of old Liverpool photographs, and may (I repeat MAY) have a picture of the church or the street in which the church stood, showing the church. The last address had for him was: Station UK, 32 Birchdale Road, Waterloo, Merseyside L22 9QX.
Good hunting
