According to the 1851 census of Llandilofawr (CARM) Mary Anne Lewis (nee Morgan) was born (daughter of William, farmer) in Hursley Herefordshire. The only Hursley I can find is in Hampshire and she does not appear there in the baptismal records (1826-8). Although the census hand is quite clear I could be misreading it. I've checked Munsley with no luck.
I'd be grateful if anyone could suggest an alternative.

Do you think it might be Eardisley?
The Herefordshire accent is quite unique and I have heard Eardisley pronounced as Erslee.
Might be worth a look at the PRs.
Cheers,

hello Indi
Many thanks for suggesting Eardisley - I've checked the 1841 & 1851 censuses and although there are some Morgans none of them fit.

This could be Hurstley. Part of Letton Parish, near Staunton on Wye and West of Hereford on the present A438.

Many thanks for suggesting Hurstley . There are some Morgans there at the right time so I will pursue the PRs.

Hi
I realise this is an old request and that you may have already got an answer. But others may be interested. This topic popped up when doing my own search for Hursley in Herefordshire.
There is a Hurstley in Letton in Herefordshire and previously spelt as Hursley (or at least it was in the early 17th century).
edit: And just realised that someone has already provided this answer. Oops!
