Dear Telephonist, Hi.  I'm not researching those surnames ... well not yet anyhow  ;).  But have you thought about joining the New Zealand Society of Genealogists?  You can subscribe to their journal 'The Genealogist' which comes out bi-monthly.

I have information (incomplete) about Patrick O'Reilly who married my paternal grandmother's sister: Mary O'Reilly nee OCallaghan at the Catholic Church in New Plymouth in 1886 and farmed in Stratford Taranaki.
