My g.g.great grandfather, John Spruce was born in Kingsley in 1821 (1851 census). He married Sarah Bostock, born in Frodsham in 1814 (1851 census). She is listed as his wife although I can find no record of their marriage.
I'd be really grateful if anyone could locate any record relating to either of them. I'm not able to get to the County records in Chester.

Hi
This looks like it could be the one
John Spruce and Sarah Boscot 4th qtr 1838 West Derby Lancashire volume 20 page 733.

The marriage is also indexed in the Lancashire BMD

Peter,
I'm really grateful to you for this information.
According to the 1851 census, the family (John and Sarah with Frederick aged 5 years, Margaret aged 3 and Daniel aged 1 year) lived at 21 Carpenters Row, Liverpool.
Best wishes,
John

I've got a Mary Spruce in my family tree from Frodsham that married a James Lyons from Duddon. There seems to have been a large Spruce family in the Kingsley area.

Hi Kim,
If you want to let me know more about Mary ( her date of birth etc) I might have more information about the Spruce family to fill in any gaps. However, as you say, there were quite a few Spruces in the Frodsham and Kingsley area, even going back to 1756.
Best wishes,
John
