Title: Lionghry?
Post by: XPhile2868 on Wednesday 24 May 06 13:15 BST (UK)
A possible ancestor is an Elizabeth Lionghry born c1699 in Penwortham, who married a William Gregson. I have never seen this surname before, and she is the only example of it on Familysearch (it is an user-submitted record, so it may be inaccurate). Any ideas as to what the surname could be?

Hi

I have ancestors:  Elizabeth Livesey (died 8/10/1757) m William Gregson (bap 7/5/1698,) on 3/9/1718 at Penwortham.  They had 7 children - Raphe, Robert, Ellin, Margaret, Ann, Richard & Jane.  Is this the right family?  If so, I have more details I can send you.

Sue

I've looked at what I have on Elizabeth and William and my William was christened on May 1st 1698 in Penwortham. Their son was a Ralph bc1719 and christened 31st May 1719 in Penwortham, so I think that they are probably the same Elizabeth and William as yours.

Ralph married an Isabel (bc1724 in Farington, died 12th March 1765 at Longton). Their daughter was an Ann, born 1753 at Farington and christened 27th December 1753.

Any information on Elizabeth and William will be greatly appreciated.
