Title: Glamorgan baptism request please?
Post by: Seashell_54 on Tuesday 23 May 06 18:05 BST (UK)
I am trying to find the baptism of William Wood, born in 1796 (according to the census) in Neath.  Many thanks!
Debbie

Hi,
This is the only possible one for that area and time. Some info is missing but can be obtained via an original entry copy from Glam FHS if you think its a possibility.

INFORMATION REMOVED(BY ME BEFORE THE EDITORS DO IT) TO PREVENT BREACH OF COPYRIGHT. iF YOU REQUIRE SAME INFO AGAIN INCASE YOU DID NOT SAVE IT, I WILL PM IT TO YOU. I DIDNT REALSISE I HAD TO PM THIS INFO BUT I HAVE SINCE BEEN EDUCATED ON THE MATTER. ;D

Hope this helps you
Karren

Hi Karren - you kindly looked this up for me awhile back.  I notice you said "some info is missing but can be obtained" etc.   What kind of info is it that is missing? (Mother's name, possibly?)   Many thanks -
Debbie

Hello,
Yes it would be age, mothers name and usually various other info. It would be a photocopy of the original entry so it would be up to you to decipher what the Glam FHS say is illegible to them. My cousin has had a few copies and the entries have been very useful to us both. I think you would have to e mail or visit them for a copy which only costs a few pounds, less than a birth certificate.
Hope this helps.
