I wonder if someone could help me find information on any of the following?:-
Richard Jones born abt 1817 (possibly Adwy).
Name of wife, and marriage details.
Daughter Frances Jones born abt 1837 (possibly Adwy)
Frances married John Griffiths 18th April 1857 (Adwy)
They had a daughter Catherine born 17th August 1860
John remarried in 1865 to Elizabeth Powell (He was still in Adwy at the time)
I would also like to know (if possible), If, where and when Frances died?
Sorry the list is so long, even the smallest of info would be appreciated
Thank you in advance

We are greatly hampered in this area by the fact that most of the 1841 Census for the area has been lost.Looking in the 1851 census i could not find a Frances Jones in the area with a Father Richard. The only one which remotely fits in 1851 is a Frances Jones living in the Minera Parish born in c 1832,but with a father John Jones. There is no sign either of a suitable Richard Jones in the area in 1841 or 1851.

Thank you for your reply, unfortunately it was definitely Richard who was her Father: I have her marriage certificate to John Griffiths.
It states that she was 20 at the time 18th April 1857
Living at Adwy
Father - Richard Jones - Roadman (whatever that was)?
In the presence of:-
Thomas Hopwood
Sarah Jones
Once again - thank you for taking the time and trouble

I am also researching HORRITT's. I am only back to 1790. Have you any info?

Hi there,
What info I have is small and vague
On my G.Grandmother's marriage certificate she gives her status as "Widow" :-
She was married 1st November 1890
St Catherine's Church - Wigan
Age 27
Condition - Widow
Name and Surname - Elizabeth Horritt
Unfortunately (even though I have tried many times) I can find nothing more.
