Did you know that if you find an interesting topic on RootsChat you can send it automatically to a friend?
You should see the following button at the top and bottom of every topic:
(if you don't see it, it means that you are not "logged in" - so just log in first)
If you find the button and click on it, it will send a link to the topic that you are reading to a friend.

Update:
This feature has now been phased out - so this no longer applies.

Hi Trystan
Doesn't that presuppose that I've got a friend? :)

When one 'sends to a friend' is there a record of the fact that it has actually been sent?
If so where should I look for that record?

Hiya Joboy,
No there is no way unfortunately for you to record the 'send to a friend' messages - but I'm sure they will get in touc with you after you send it to them :)

Thank you Trystan ........ I understand.
I shall keep a note each time I adopt the 'send to a friend' procedure.

Trystan,
Is there a facility to send to more than one friend ? I have several friends. If there is not such a facility that means one has to work fairly hard to keep in touch with friends lol

Thanks trystan, I will be using that

Question for Trystan,
Might this topic's first post need slight revision as it no longer looks like the illustration nor bear the same text?

Another question for Trystan....
Where is the Send to a Friend button? I can't find it any more and I want to alert a friend to something?
Thanks

Dawn,
Well spotted :) That was phased out a few months ago.
RootsChat It was done to comply with a requirement that was put on us so that all our outgoing emails could be pre-approved by some of the large email providers.
It is a shame though. :-[

Well, that sure is a shame, as you say.
:'( :'( :'( :'(
Strangely enough, yesterday I saw the button on one post I was looking at.
So I thought you'd brought it back! And of course I don't remember which post it was ::) ::)
