Hi all,
I think I am loosing the plot, I am looking for the birth of RICHARD ALFRED HART, I have found his death in Ontario and his gravestone gives the dates 1921 - 1966. These dates fit in with all the information I have on him. I have searched the births on Ancestry and cannot find him. He was born in Folkestone (Elham registration district).
Could some kind person please take a look for me to see if they can see him. Unfortunately I do not know his mothers maiden name.
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
Blue

I've had a look at the years 1920 to 1922 and the only Richard Hart I could find was a Richard J Hart born in Elham 1920 April to June quarter Ref 2a 2523 with the mothers maiden name of Shrewsbury.
I could not see any other possible matches for the dates and names you gave. Hope it helps. Sorry it was not an exact match. perhaps someone else will have more luck.
Happy hunting.

Who was his father? Did he have siblings? Where and when were they born? They might be easier to find. All these bits of information can help. I am always wary of birth dates given at death as the only person who really knew is dead! I am not sure what details appear on Canadian death certificates but there may be quite a lot. Do you have it?
His marriage certificate should give father's name and occupation and an address so that you could look at electoral rolls etc. Assuming his father was over 20 when he married then we might be able to find him in the 1901 census.

This could be the parents...just looked for all Hart marriages till found one with a Long, luckly both names are at the begining....
Alfred Hart m Beatrice A Long
Elham 3rd qtr 1920 2a 3189
Maybe because his dad was Alfred they all called him Richard instead.

Hi Blue.....
Glad to help sometimes as fresh pair of eyes works wonders.
Does all seem to fit together with the names as he looks to be the first born it may help with possible siblings.
Happy hunting

Richard Alfred Hart was my father! He was born in Folkstone England in April 1921! Not sure of the day! He died in Northbay Ontario! Are you by any chance related to our family?
-
Hi Camilla,
Wow you don't know how long I have been looking for this part of my family, your grandfather Alfred and my nan Mabel Bessie Flisher (nee Hart) were brother and sister so we share the same great grandparents, Alfred Hart Snr and Grace Kelway Griffiths. I am over the moon, my mum will be so pleased that she has a living relative to her first cousin (your father). I can't wait to tell her you are in touch. If you want to keep in touch I will PM your my email address. So looking forward to hearing from you. Kind Regards, Tracy
