Title: gypsy family

hi there, i`ve been researching my smith line, who were from hawkesbury gloucs, i`ve been told that they were gypsies.. who camped on hawkesbury common, and petty france ::).. there is also another family who is connected..surname hunt, does anyone have any info, or knowledge of this..
 any help would be appreciated  :)

Do you have any details about your Smith family in Hawkesbury.
There are a few Smiths actually born in Hawkesbury on the IGI.
But I need some names to follow up.

Have you tried using this site.
This is where I have found a lot of Smiths in Hawkesbury, you can use it to find the Hunt family also.

 the names i have are.. william smith sarah hunt 
  my grt grt grt grandfather was born george smith-hunt 1832 hawksebury
  william died 1839
  when george married he dropped the hunt
  on his death cert it`s george smith hunt, so it`s all very confusing
   george married a Ann Beard, from chipping sodbury, i`ve checked the igi num.. and found george`s birth details, but nothing more.. :'(  there was also a keizah smith, who a sister of george..is that a gypsy name.. there is also a selina, who is george`s grandaughter.. hope this does`nt sound to confusing

There is an entry for
George Smith-Hunt on the IGI
Christened 16th Feb 1832 Hawkesbury
His parents were
William Smith Hunt and Ann

and
William Smith
Christened 24th August 1817, hawkesbury
Parents were
William Smith  and Ann

and
Ann Smith
christened 10th August 1823, Hawkesbury
parents were
William Smith and ann

and
Mary Smith
Christened 22nd Feb 1829, Hawkesbury
parents were
Wiiliam smith and Ann

and
Esther Smith
christened 2nd July 1826, Hawkesbury
Parents were
William Smith and ann

and
Sarah Smith
Christened 18th June 1837, Hawkesbury
Parents were
William Smith and ann

Is this what you already have? Sorry finding it confusing also ;D
I will see what else I can find. Let me know if the above is the right family first.

11th October 1838, Hawkesbury

This is also what I have found for the name Smith-Hunt on the census in 1841

1841 living in Hawkesbury
Ann Smith Hunt. c1824 Gloucestershire
living with
William Godfrey. c 1821 Gloucestershire

There are a few more smith Hunts in the census's but not in Hawkesbury.
