Title: marriage of Joseph Whitfield to Nelly???

Hello everyone  :D

I'm trying to track down a marriage for Joseph Whitfield and Nelly who are the parents of Elizabeth Whitfield.

Elizabeth was born in Carperby and baptised 12 June 1807 in Aysgarth.

When I was last at the records office I tried the parish records for both those churches but with no luck and I have since tried to track them down on the IGI in all the neighbouring churches.

I've had no luck with this one now for some time and thought I might throw it open in case someone out there may be able to come up with something.  (or in case I had a 'blank brain' moment at just the point when the relevant entry was right in front of me - I'm sure you've all done that one ..... haven't you?!  :-\ )

Would be eternally grateful for any little nugget that might give me another avenue to go down  ;)

i had similar problem seems nelly can sometimes be name for eleanor !!!

ive a nelly wilson married to joshua whitfield in Arkengarthdale a 1804
thers lots of confusion with name

Hi Susan  :)
I'm sure you will have done this, I went through the batch number in LDS for any other Whitfield births and came up with zero. There are some births to Joseph and an Eleanor but it's in Arkengarth.
Sorry I'm not familiar with the area.

Aysgarth very pretty village the Falls are marvelous ive been through dozens of times, yes this is Arkengarthdale area !
