Title: Hinder family history

Could anyone please look up for me in the Bristol area (Bedminster/Long Ashton) for a Roger and Sarah Hinder - I know of one child Henry (my great grandfather) and would like to find others.  Roger was born around 1809 and Henry 1846.

Here is the 1881 census for Roger and Sarah, gives you a coupe of sisters for Henry.

From the information from this census I looked up Jane Hinder for a marriage and found this, it would be wise to obtain the certificate to check that it is the correct one.

  Would you have any connection to John Hinder son of a brewer in Essex.John went to N.S.W.Australia in the 1790s.John marr.Ann in N.S.W.John died in Ceylon c1819 and Ann and the 3 sons went to Calcutta.

We are actually 10th cousins, if you can believe it.  Roger Hinder had 9 children, as far as I can tell.  One was your great-grandfather Henry and another was James.  James had Sarah Ann Hinder, who married my great great great grandfather.  He was named Walter Lane, as was his son and grandson.  I am the third Robert Lane since that.  I have a good deal of information about the generation of Henry Hinder and his children's generation, but I would greatly appreciate any further information you have and would happily share what I have with you.  email address removed by moderator  I get a ton of spam on this account (and will probably get more now), so include HINDER Family Info.

I am very sorry but your reply to Robert has sadly bounced back to us because the email address we have is no longer working.

I have done a little search for him but I have been unable to narrow it down because he has a very popular name.

Old member do often get back intouch, lets keep our fingers crossed that he gets back in touch with us.
