My great grandfather Thomas Lloyd indicated on Census returns that his birthplace was Worcester and on his mariage certificate that his father was Thomas Henry Lloyd, a coachman.
I can find no convincing evidence of a Thomas Lloyd matching this profile or of a Thomas Henry Lloyd working as a coacman in Worcester in the 1851 census. My searches of the parish records in Worcester have also proved fruitless. My great grandfather worked in Lytham Lancashire as a coachman in the 1880s before moving to London in the 1890s. After becoming blind in about 1900, he returned to Lytham and earned a meagre living operating a tea round that he had been set up with by a local charity , the Buffs. I was told that he had worked for a General Fielding somewhere near Blackburn during the 1870s. Any help in tracing his parents or birthplace would be much appreciated.

Have you found him on the 1861 census ?

No I haven't I'm afraid. There is one relatively close match with an 1851 dob but on closer inspection the father turns out to be a tinman or brazier rather than a coachman and subsequent censuses are incompatible as well.
1871 also draws a blank and 1881 shows him in Lytham as a coachman with his name incorrectly shown as Loyd.
